YRC has supported five drivers since we began in 2009 and they’ve each brought something new to the club and worked hard to spread the word about YRC.

2012 sees us add Max Coates to the YRC roll of honour and we’re really looking forward to seeing him take to the track this season. To support Max in 2012, please take a look at what YRC membership offers all racing fans – a chance to really get involved. Click here.

Max Coates (2012)

We’ve recruited our very own blonde bombshell in Max. At 5ft 10 and a half (yup – the all important half inch!), Max is the tallest driver ever to get in a YRC race car. He’s also the youngest, celebrating his 18th birthday earlier this year. He has however got a maturity that none of the previous possess but we’re of the opinion that he will no doubt regress the more laps he has under his belt!

Fulvio Mussi (2009 & 2010)

Every great racing team needs a shot of Latin influence and ours is the perky Anglo-Italian Colchester racing driver. Taking the YRC Ginetta G50 to fourth in the championship in 2009, he impressed the team and YRC club members in his first full season in rear wheel drive racing. He took up the reigns in the Clio in 2010 and has remained involved with the team whilst taking up a professional role in the 2011 BritCar Championship.

Martin Byford (2011)

With seven Championship wins in every major circuit racing discipline, it’s a wonder we hadn’t see Martin in the touring cars before. He’s no stranger to the TOCA paddock though and 2011 will be his sixth season featuring on the Touring Car billing. Martin says ”I’ve raced so many different cars over the years. I’ve done Clio’s, I’ve done SEAT’s. I’ve raced Formula cars, GT cars and even the odd scooter (away from the lights) But now, finally, I’ve got a shot in Touring Cars, and I plan on making it count”.

He certainly tried and despite some bad luck, he always came away smiling.

Shaun Hollamby (2010 & 2011)

Shaun has done every job on the motorsport enthusiasts to do list – fan, spectator, driver, gofer, mechanic, commentator, F1 TV director, championship coordinator, team boss – you name, he’s done it! In 2011, he took on a new responsibility from the pit wall at the AmDMilltek Racing Team Manager.

“Motorsport truly is my passion and the highlight of all these different jobs was driving in the BTCC for AmDMilltek Racing in 2010″, said Shaun Hollamby “this year’s going to be the best yet”.

It was tough but Shaun can always find something to smirk about!

Tom Onslow-Cole (2011)

Tom is one of the BTCC’s youngest title contenders. At only 23 he has multiple wins, stacks of podiums and even a very near championship title to his name. His fanatic love of motorsport has also seen him grow into other areas; substantial involvement with the MSA and their Academy keeps him busy through the week.

“What can I say, I love what I do. I mean who wouldn’t, it’s a fantastic sport to be involved in and I’m very fortunate to be out there racing in front of such huge and enthusiastic audiences” 

His move to Team Aon didn’t perhaps prove as fruitful as he’d hoped but we live and learn.
