It’s just five weeks to go until the British Touring Car Championship season starts so now’s the time to get kitted out!
Our YRC merchandise is a bit different from the big motor racing teams in that the proceeds really do make a big contribution to our racing budget. That means that every item you buy ends up helping to fund a tyre (approx £2oo each!) a litre of race fuel or a roll of gaffa tape for Max’s car this year (hopefully not too much gaffa tape!).
On offer in the clothing range are t-shirts, hoodies, caps and beanies and we’ve also got some new nifty gifts to tickle your fancy – mugs, key rings and more.
In celebration of the launch of this year’s kit, we’re running an offer in conjunction with Unlap.
Any merchandise orders over £20 placed with us on or before Sunday 11th March will get a special voucher code to buy the Unlap British Touring Car Championship tour t-shirt for just £10.
It’s the 13th of February and you haven’t got your beloved a Valentines gift yet. We’ve got the solution – save yourself a trip to the petrol station or Halfords in favour of a YRC Gift Membership! YRC membership is just £30 and for any racing fan and the subscription goes to a worthy cause – getting a young racing driver on the grid for 2012.
Every gift member signing up today and tomorrow will receive a special Valentines themed gift certificate for their grease monkey partner or, why not send an anonymous membership to someone you’d like to know better!
All you need to know is their email address, Facebook profile name, where they work or their Twitter name – we’ll do the rest and get in touch with them to tell them someone likes them enough to give them the gift that keeps on giving!
Adult membership is just £30 including postage and packaging and every gift recipient will have a certificate for their membership by tomorrow!
So, if you do know anyone who likes to get their backside trackside*, give them something that will last them for the whole racing season, gets them lots of discounts and perks and they’ll even get to chose a picture for the roof of our racing car.

It’s a tough challenge for a young racer to get fans interested in their activities as they fight their way through the ranks, even if the target is the British Touring Car Championship. Max has officially been a YRC driver for one week so we thought we’d give you a back-catalogue to swat up on before he hits the track for the first time carrying the YRC members pictures. (more…)
Your support has been fabulous but if you haven’t already, please join YourRacingCar.com.
Wowzers. What a day Friday was! We had a huge (and very positive) response to the news that we’ll be supporting Max Coates for the 2012 season. There are lots of new people talking about YRC who haven’t heard of us before so that’s all good news.
I thought I’d take the opportunity to shed a bit of light on how YRC works and try to encourage those of you who’ve been supportive in your tweets, to put your hands in your pocket for Max this year. It’s just £30 for an adult membership (click to join!). (more…)
It’s tricky breaking news these day! Back in the day, you had a responsibility to consult with your sponsors and those closest to the team and follow that up with a formal press release which needed to be carefully timed to coincide with print deadlines. Not anymore! It’s a complex system of levers and pullies just to make sure the right people find out in the right order!
This is not an F1 style video conference but we’ll get there…in time. We’re keeping it simple. Here’s the news.
YRC have signed a multi-year deal with Max Coates in order to help progress the ambitions we’ve held since we established YourRacingCar.com on the back of a bear mat in 2009 (click here for our history). (more…)
Not everyone ‘gets’ touring cars. Take my aunt for example. She doesn’t even pretend to understand what it is about touring cars that has consumed my work and private life for six years. And I think I know why. She’s never been to see it live.
Watching the British Touring Car Championship on TV is fantastic when you know what you’re watching but motor racing is a soulful sport and I really think you have to hear it, feel it, smell it and see it, for it to get it’s teeth into you. I’ve introduced a lot of people to motor racing in my business and personal life and not once, having spent the day trackside for the first time has someone said, “it’s not really my thing”. (more…)
Forget NASCAR. The British Touring Car should be aspiring to the heights of popularity of Roman Chariot racing. With weekly audiences of a quarter of a million spectators, highly talented and skilled racers throughout the field and prize money that would make Tiger Woods eye’s water, this is the sport to emulate. YourRacingCar.com has secured a fantastic ticket discount for the Thruxton round of the British Touring Car Championship on Sunday 29th April.
Race day tickets including paddock access are usually priced at £37 but this year’s YourRacingCar.com members get a special discounted price of just £20 per ticket.
If you’re visiting the British Touring Car Championship this year at Thruxton, then YRC membership is a no-brainer. Not only will your YRC membership pay for itself with a £33.50 discount (including all booking fees) on a pair of Thruxton race day tickets (told you it was a no brainer!), but you’ll get free tea, coffee and hot chocolate all day, and at every other circuit you visit in 2012. YourRacingCar.com brings you the latest in our behind the scenes interviews with the people who are the fabric of the British Touring Car Championship. Ian Titchmarsh epitomises this series of Q and As, primarily, because only a handful of people have ever seen his face.
You have to get up early to catch a glimpse of the lesser spotted ‘Titch’ at a British Touring Car Championship weekend. We know he hides out in the commentary box and every BTCC spectator since… well a long time ago… will instantly recognise his voice as part of the trackside commentary (and often comedy) due of ‘Alan (Hyde) and Titch’. How did you get on with your 122 squats today?! Keep going because it really will make a difference to your legs by the time it comes to the 1st April when the British Touring Car Championship begins at the traditional location for the start of the season, Brands Hatch in Kent.
The second challenge we have for you is a one- off and illustrates exactly what we mean by #PitFit. Perhaps we should have called it pit-ready or pit-prepared but it really doesn’t have the same ring to it!
Today’s challenge, should you choose to accept it is to find two hats. (more…)
